Chandogya

The Chandogya Upanishad is notable for its lilting metric structure, its mention of ancient cultural elements such as musical instruments, and embedded philosophical premises that later served as foundation for Vedanta schools.

Sixth Khanda

Meditation is certainly superior to intelligence. The earth seems to be meditating. The space between the earth and ether seems to be meditating. So also, ether seems to be meditating. Water seems to be meditating. The mountains seem to be meditating. Gods and human beings also seem to be meditating.

‘One who worships meditation as Brahman can do what he pleases within the limits of meditation.’ Nārada asked - ‘Sir, is there anything higher than meditation?’ ‘Of course, there is something higher than meditation,’ replied Sanatkumāra. Nārada then said - ‘Sir, please explain that to me’.
