Chandogya

The Chandogya Upanishad is notable for its lilting metric structure, its mention of ancient cultural elements such as musical instruments, and embedded philosophical premises that later served as foundation for Vedanta schools.

Fourth Khanda

O Gautama, space is the (sacrificial) fire; the sun is its fuel; the rays are the smoke; day is the flame; the moon is the embers; and the stars are the sparks.

The gods (i.e., the organs of the sacrificer) offer water as a token of respect to the fire (space). Out of that oblation appears King Soma (the shining moon).
