Chandogya

The Chandogya Upanishad is notable for its lilting metric structure, its mention of ancient cultural elements such as musical instruments, and embedded philosophical premises that later served as foundation for Vedanta schools.

Second Khanda

Then the rays of the sun in the south are the southern honey-cells (of the beehive). The Yajuh mantras are the bees, and the Yajur Veda is the flower. The water (from the sacrifice, such as the soma juice and other things) is nectar (of the flower).

Those Yajuḥ mantras stimulated the Yajur Veda. Out of that Yajur Veda so stimulated came fame, vitality, the power of the organs, energy, and the essence of food.

All this (fame, etc.) spread out to the sun and took shelter there. It is this, that accounts for the white look of the sun.
