At the time of creation and annihilation of the world, only that one integral entity exists. He is the Supreme Lord because of the mastery of His incomprehensible powers of Maya. He protects all the worlds and controls the multiple powers working in them. One who proves this supreme power gets victory over death.
The one who protects and rules the worlds, Rudra, is really only one. There is no one near him who can make him another. He is present in the heart of all beings. After creating and maintaining all the worlds, in the end he withdraws it in himself.
Although God is the creator of both heaven and earth, yet, heaven is the true master of all eyes, mouths, hands, feet in this world. It is heaven itself that prompts them to perform their respective duties according to the knowledge, past actions and tendencies of the different beings (with whom they appear to be associated).
The Supreme God who gives birth to the demi - gods and gives them shelter, who is also the origin of the universal soul, who showers joy and knowledge on the devotees by destroying the sins and sorrows of the devotees and punishing those who commit unrighteousness, who is the Maharishi and Prabhu. May the one who manifested Hiranyagarbha bestow us with auspicious thoughts.
Oh God! By publishing the Vedas, you shower grace on all beings, by your peaceful and blissful form, you have the grace to keep us all happy, by which both fear and sin are destroyed.
O Revealer of Vedic Truths, please make auspicious the arrow that You have kept in Your hand to aim at someone. O protector of the devotees, do not destroy your gentle personal form which is manifested as the universe.
Higher than this individual Brahman is the infinite Supreme Brahman who is hidden in all beings according to their forms and who is single yet pervades the whole universe. One who knows Him as the Supreme Lord becomes nectar.
I have come to know the Supreme Person who is as radiant as the sun and is beyond all darkness. One who knows him by experience becomes free from death. There is no other way to get rid of the cycle of birth and death.
There is nothing higher or different from Him. There is nothing greater or subtler than that. Rooted in his glory, he stands unique and unchanging like a tree. The whole universe is pervaded by that man.
That man is beyond this world, formless, and without sorrow. Those who know it through experience are freed from death. But everyone else undoubtedly has to suffer.
That's why that Supreme Lord, being omnipresent and all-beneficial, resides in the heart-cavity of all beings and uses the mouths, heads and necks of all the people of the world.
This Atman is indeed the mighty Lord. He is the imperishable light that controls everything. He guides the intellect of all beings so that they may attain the purest state, that is, the state of liberation.
The Eternal Purusha (Supreme Consciousness) of the size of a thumb, resides in the hearts of all beings, as their soul, through intelligence, emotion, imagination and will. Those who realize this truth attain immortality.
That Supreme Consciousness (Eternal Purusha) has a thousand heads, a thousand eyes and a thousand feet and is located ten fingers above, covering the entire universe from all directions.
Whatever is in the present, whatever was in the past and whatever is going to happen in the future—all this is the Eternal Purusha alone. Although He assumes the form of the objective world apart from His nature, yet He remains the Lord of immortality.
His hands and feet are everywhere, his eyes, head, ears and mouth are everywhere. He pervades everything in the universe and remains present everywhere.
He is illumined by the functions of all the senses, yet without the senses he is the lord, ruler, refuge and friend of all.
The same swan or soul resides in the Puri of Navdwar. He plays in the outer world in the form of a soul. He is the creator of the whole world, the whole variable world.
He is holding everyone even though he is without hands. He walks fast without legs. Sees without eyes. Hears without ears. He knows everything worth knowing. But no one knows him. Knowledgeable people say that he is a pioneer and a great man.
Subtlest than the subtlest and greater than the greatest Atman is hidden in the hearts of the living beings. By the grace of the Creator, one becomes free from sorrow and desire and knows Him as the Supreme.
I know this immortal, primordial, all-pervading Atman of all who is omnipotent and all-pervading, and whom the Brahma Vedas describe as eternally free from birth and death.
