After this Bharadvaja Sukesha asked him:
O Lord!
Hiranyanabha, the prince of Kosala came to me and asked me this question -
'O Bharadvaja, do you know about 'Purusha' (consciousness) and 'His' sixteen arts?"
And I replied to that Kumar -
'I' do not know him (Purusha)
Reason, if I knew 'him', I would definitely tell you about 'him', but I cannot tell you untruth because the one who tells untruth is completely destroyed.
'He' silently got on the chariot and left me.
I am asking you about 'him' (Purusha), who is this 'man'?
Sage Pippalad replied to him, "O Soumya Vats! It is here that the 'Purush' is in the inner body of every living being, that is why the sixteen arts are born in 'him'.
He thought about 'self'.
'Who can be the one by whose reversal (exit) I will come out of this body and by whose establishment I will remain situated?'
Then he created 'Prana', and from 'Prana' faith, then sky and then air, then light then water then earth, then senses and mind and food, then from food semen and from semen penance; To, with these mantras, Karma, Karma created the worlds, the name in the worlds; All the substances were born in this sequence from the 'soul'.
Therefore as all these flowing rivers move towards the sea, but when they reach the sea they are lost in it and name and form break away from them and all is called only the sea, so all the sixteen members of the silent witnessing Spirit move towards the Being, and when they have attained the Being they are lost in Him and name and form break away from them and all is called only the Being; then is He without members and immortal. About whom this verse is.
Just as all the spokes are situated in the navel of the wheel of a chariot, so is 'He' in whom these arts are situated.
Consider Him as 'Purush' who is the ultimate goal of knowledge, through whom you are freed from death and its suffering.
You will be free.
And, Sage Pippalad said to him “That's all I know about the 'Supreme Brahman'; There is nothing other than 'this' and 'higher'.
And they worshiped him and said: "You are our father who has taken us to the other side of 'Ignorance'."
